CPB CANADA WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS

To be completed by individuals attending in person events, where registration is captured through the Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (“CPB Canada”) website.
Participation in this Event is conditional on the execution of this Waiver of Liability and Release of all Claims Agreement. Registration will not be completed, and entrance to your local regional event will not be permitted without this Waiver of Liability and Release of All Claims being completed.
1. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in this event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, property damage, or other unforeseen hazards. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with attending this event.
2. Release of Liability
I hereby release, waive, and discharge CPB Canada and its officers, employees, agents, sponsors, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained by me or my property during the event.
3. Medical Consent
In the event of an emergency, I authorize the event organizers to secure medical care and treatment as deemed necessary for my health and safety. I agree to assume all costs related to medical care and transportation.
4. Code of Conduct
I agree to conduct myself responsibly and adhere to all rules and guidelines established by the event organizers. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in my removal from the event without refund.
5. Photo and Media Release
I grant permission for CPB Canada to use any photographs, video, or other media recordings of me taken during the event for promotional or other business purposes without compensation or further consent.
6. COVID-19 and Health Acknowledgment
I confirm that I am in good health and have no symptoms of illness. I agree to follow any health and safety protocols implemented at the event. I understand that despite these precautions, attending an in-person event carries some risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illnesses, which I accept.
7. Legal Capacity
I affirm that I am of legal age to sign this waiver or have obtained the required consent from a parent or guardian if under 18 years old.

I understand that participation in a virtual event involves certain risks, including but not limited to technical issues, interruptions in connectivity, unauthorized access, or data breaches. I voluntarily assume all such risks associated with my participation in this virtual event.
2. Release of Liability
I hereby release, waive, and discharge CPB Canada and its officers, employees, agents, sponsors, speakers, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury—whether physical, technological, or reputational—that may be sustained by me as a result of participating in this event.
3. Technology Use and Responsibility
I acknowledge that I am responsible for ensuring my own equipment, internet connection, and environment are suitable for participation. CPB Canada is not responsible for any technical difficulties, loss of access, or other issues arising from my use of personal technology or third-party platforms (e.g., Zoom, webinar software).
4. Code of Conduct
I agree to conduct myself professionally and respectfully during all virtual sessions and interactions. Disruptive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior may result in my removal from the event without refund or further notice.
5. Recording, Photo, and Media Release
I acknowledge that this virtual event may be recorded. I grant permission for CPB Canada to record, capture, and use my image, voice, or likeness during the event for promotional, educational, or other lawful purposes without compensation or further consent.
6. Privacy and Confidentiality
I understand that any information shared by participants or speakers during the virtual event is intended for educational and professional purposes only. I agree not to record, distribute, or disclose any confidential content or materials without CPB Canada’s written consent.
7. Legal Capacity
I affirm that I am of legal age to agree to this waiver or have obtained the required consent from a parent or guardian if under 18 years old.
